move2nz's achievement
23rd June 2008
Many people think that move2nz is just this website, not knowing that this is just the Internet face
of an extremely active organisation.
The majority of the work we actually do is face to face, providing completely free direct assistance
to new migrants and their families having difficulties through a variety of
methods including:
- coffee mornings;
- face to face help in our free walk-in centre;
- national telephone support;
- events organised around the country.
This work is quite different to other services as we have described in our report:

move2nz Activity – Jan to May 2008
From the start of 2008 we started compiling records of our activity using the same system as
government services and were amazed by how much we actually do. It's every day
work to us and after three years we are used to it.
Face to Face assistanceAlthough our activity in assisting people has
had to decline through the first part of this year due to fundraising activities
in the first five months of this year we have directly assisted (either face to
face or by telephone) the following numbers of migrant families:

During this time the team has been busy online too answering 1,128 emails as well as providing
direct information in answer to over 250 private messages and posts through the
site.
Please see below for a break down of these figures.

Overseas Initiatives
This year, in addition to presenting Seminars while in the UK we made ourselves available for
one-to-one sessions to more personal and direct assistance.
Hearing of our plans we were also invited to attend the Opportunities Expos in London and Leeds by
the organisers to provide free information. This event was also attended by
government funded initiatives including a member of the SSNZ.

Email Enquiries
The team receives a steady stream of requests for information on every aspect of migrating and
settling in New Zealand. The figures have been broken into monthly values to
show the reduction which has occurred as a direct result of the team having to
spend the majority of their time fundraising to keep services running.

We are extremely sorry for not being able to answer so many enquiries over
the last couple of months. We hope to be back up to full strength soon with your
support ;o).
