Step 5. Invitation to Apply

If you have been successful and your expression of interest is drawn from the pool, Immigration New Zealand will examine all the information you provided with your EOI. If it is determined that your claims appear credible and legitimate, INZ will send you an official Invitation to Apply for Residence.

The Invitation to Apply will specify a time frame of four months within which you may lodge an application under the Skilled Migrant Category. The Invitation to Apply will also specify the documentation that you will need to provide at the time that your application is lodged and the applicable fees. You will also be sent further information to assist you to lodge your application for residence correctly.

At this point, you will apply and need to provide Immigration New Zealand a signed application form, the applicable fees and all the necessary documentation to support the claims you made in your Expression of Interest, such as passports, qualifications and relevant certificates.

The application for residence form is short because you will have supplied the majority of the necessary information with your Expression of Interest and the form already contains the information that you provided. You will check the information and return the form with your documentation to the address specified in your Invitation to Apply.

You need to provide Immigration New Zealand with evidence of your job or job offer, work experience, qualifications, and any other factors for which you claimed points in you Expression of Interest. You will also need to provide a proof that you and everyone else on your application meet New Zealand health, character, and English language requirements.

Your Application for Residence will then be assessed, and you will be notified of INZ decision.
