about move2nz

move2nz is the brainchild of Tammy and Mike Bell who migrated to New Zealand from London in September 2000. Following their experiences it became clear that migrants need help, support and above all unbiased information to make their own decisions.

Tammy researched NZ immigration policy and having been through the process herself became very active on help forums answering questions for other migrants. Through their encouragement she decided to take it a step further and start her own site. The first version of move2nz was launched in June 2003 as a forum and information centre. It quickly gathered a small but solid membership.

From here, the idea of move2nz grew and grew. Migrants needed more than just a forum and move2nz needed to be everything a migrant to New Zealand needed in one place.

Deciding to make a go of it, from October 2004 Tammy and Mike put 100% of their time and effort into the project. Mike built the portal from the ground up using new .Net technology to open up the possibilities of the site. Aiming to have the first phase ready for March 1st 2005 he has bought and incorporated top level chat and forum software to make this core centre the best it can be.

The first phase of move2nz – the basic communication centre of forums, chat rooms and member details – is now complete. We have great plans for fantastic tools and services to add. While we build the rest of the portal we welcome you to make use of the site and look forward to your comments and suggestions.

Welcome!
